It's rare that a TV show could capture my heart, my mind and spirit. As a Student of Life, I'm consistently seeking to be more learned, more IN-Spired and more informed of the best of life's lessons. Maya Angelou's Master Class is an amazing hour chock full of information that quite simply kept me smiling in the image of her light. What a glowing light she is, just hitting her 8th decade and overflowing with Life. "Words are things, you must be careful how you use them". I'm learning the awareness of this important statement. To be impeccable with your words seems like a simple step. A simple action, yet it's unbelievable how challenging it is to stay within the parameters of impeccability with your words and the feelings you express. From www.myspace.com/Natalie_M_C_Stewart:HOW NATALIE STEWART GOT HERE...xx I was born in the midst of a record breaking winter…in Germany…5 years after my sister, and 7 years after my brother…February, (of course!), the 13th, (well naturally!!), AQUARIUS, (what else!?!)...to my Jamaican born, British raised parents!...A historical event all around…Daddy had to be flown in, all autobahns were closed…oh, and did I mentioned that I was born at a record breaking (for said hospital) healthy, weight of 11lbs 4oz!...SO…I caught my first plane at thirteen days of age! (I had to change my surroundings!) England…13 days – 2 ½ years... I have many memories that fall within this period, pretty vivid one’s to! You’d be surprised, sometimes I feel like I can see out of my old new eyes!...THEN… Hong Kong…2 ½ years – 5 years... Now these years I remember from the actual flight (British Calendonian, when they still used to let you go and visit the pilot!), and the thickness of the heat in Dubai where we changed flights, all the way through to learning to swim, Lion Rock, starting school, Gregory Issacs’ Night Nurse album and many, many more moments…I LOVED THIS PART OF MY LIFE IMMENSELY!...THEN… England 5 years – 7 years... Now when I say England, I mean Reading, Arborfield, countryside and safety!...(These are the years that I served in the British Armed Forces…0-7…I was a vet by 7)...THEN…CIVILIAN LIFE…where better to start than…LONDON…7 years – 21 years... What can I say about London, other than...London…what can I say!?! PROUD I AM TO BE A BLACK EUROPEAN!! "Mecca never raises her voice but always is a commanding figure."The crew's 1993 unveiling, Reachin' (a new refutation of time and space), sold platinum and included samples from Curtis Mayfield, Sonny Rollins and other pacesetters. The single "Rebirth Of Slick ("Cool Like Dat) was a Top 10 smash that won a Grammy award for Best Rap Performance by a duo or group. The trio also scored one Billboard award, among other accolades, and toured the world with the likes of Sade. Its follow-up, Blowout Comb, followed the group's creative light to another singular level of inspiration.Next came some reordering and reorganizing for Mecca. She entered into several unfulfilling associations before deciding to create the album she wanted on her own terms. "There were so many people trying to impose their wills on me," she remembers.
